The A7C is more like a Sony APS-C model, such as the A6400, than the A7, as it adopts a smaller body with an electronic viewfinder in the upper left corner of the camera’s rear panel, with a rangefinder style.
The camera measures 124.0 x 71.1 x 59.7 mm, weighs 509 grams, and has a 24.2-megapixel full-frame sensor with in-body image stabilization and a standard (ISO) range of up to 51200.
It can shoot up to 10 frames per second with auto exposure, and is capable of shooting 4K video at 30 frames per second or 1080p video at 120 frames per second, both of which are up to 100Mbps.
The body contains a USB-C port, wireless support, and a 3-inch 921,000-dot variable-angle LCD screen.
Sony has developed a new lens group designed to be paired with the A7C, and the company describes the group when used together as the smallest and lightest full-frame camera system in the world.
The price of the new camera is only $ 1799 for the body, which is about $ 200 less than the (A7 III) for 2018, which is the closest camera to it from a technical point of view.
But the A7 III is now two years old, and is widely available at discount prices, and it could be a better option for anyone who prioritizes camera lens size or general ergonomics.
In terms of competition, the (A7C) competes directly with the new (Lumix S5) camera, which is priced at $ 1999 from Panasonic, another integrated camera with 24 megapixels.
But there are more options, as the Nikon Z5 camera is priced at about $ 1,400, and it comes with a foldable zoom lens for $ 1699.95, less than the Sony camera body alone.
However, Sony has the best original full-frame mirrorless lens group thanks to it outperforming everyone else on the market by a few years.
Sony designed the A7C for video bloggers and YouTube users, so it has some video-oriented features.
The camera is supposed to go on sale in late October for $ 1,799 or $ 2,099 with the new zoom lenses, which will be sold separately in early 2021 for $ 500.
