Samsung develops a laptop with an Exynos processor

Plans a company Samsung to release a new laptop running Windows 10, which has its own Exynos system with an integrated AMD Radeon graphics chip.

According to For reports ZDNet Korea, ARM-based laptop could be launched later this year.

Both the MacBook Pro with M1 processor and the MacBook Air with the M1 show that laptops with the ARM architecture are ready for prime-time use, but we have yet to see the Windows equivalent with competitive performance.

Samsung may be looking to change that by copying Apple’s strategy to build an in-house processor with a little help from AMD on the graphics side.

Samsung and AMD’s partnership actually started in 2019, with the clear goal of bringing AMD Radeon graphics technology to Samsung smartphones.

And it’s easy to see how a laptop with Radeon graphics could come out of that partnership.

Exynos chips have long been the backbone of Samsung phones and tablets, including the Samsung Galaxy S21.

The report mentioned an entirely new laptop system called the Exynos 2200.

No other specifications were included, although Samsung also builds the laptop screen, memory, battery and storage itself.

This means that it may contain the OLED laptop screens that it launched in January.

It is worth noting that such a laptop will not be Samsung’s first entry into the field of laptops with the ARM architecture operating with the Windows 10 operating system, as it launched last year the Galaxy Book S.

However, the Galaxy Book S used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx processor instead of Samsung’s proprietary processor technology.

More detailed design can help bridge the performance gap between current ARM laptops running Windows 10 and MacBooks with M1 processor.

In the event that this laptop is under development as the report indicates, it is expected that Samsung will announce it in the second half of 2021, sometime after the release of the next Galaxy Note, which is said: Samsung is still working on it despite previous rumors of its demise.
