Review of the laptop MSI Prestige 14 Evo
MSI is back with a new Intel Evo certified laptop, which means that it comes with special standards to be a thin and lightweight laptop with very high design and manufacturing quality in addition to exceptional performance.
Here is a review of the laptop MSI Prestige 14 Evo:
MSI Prestige 14 Evo maintains the same design as the standard Prestige 14 Edition, but the company has added some additional touches to give it a distinct look and feel.
The touch panel has been improved to be more compact and the keyboard layout has been modified. MSI also revised the port distribution to have two Thunderbolt 4 ports instead of Thunderbolt 3, and one USB port, with the microSD card reader being relocated. There is also a built-in 3.5mm headphone / microphone jack.
The case comes in a 14-inch size, but it weighs 1.2 kg with a thickness of 15.9 mm, which makes it appear thinner and lighter than other laptops with a size of 14 inches, and this is due to the thin frames in this computer.
It also comes with a stylish metal design on the front with very nice ventilation holes on the bottom side, inside which are two heat pipes and one fan.
The case includes a 720-pixel IR camera at the top of the screen, and there is a fingerprint sensor installed on the mouse touch area.
Unlike the standard Prestige 14, the Evo comes in black and white only and there is no pink version.
The laptop comes with a 14-inch IPS blackout screen and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen covers adobeRGB color gamut by 73% which is very reasonable, while it supports sRGB color by 95%.
The screen performance is excellent in terms of browsing and multimedia, but in the matter of editing photos and videos, its performance will not be optimal.
The brightness of the screen is approximately 284 nits.
The sound is one of the weaknesses of this computer, although there are two headphones at the bottom, but it is better to use headphones to get better results.
The Prestige 14 Evo is powered by an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor with a response speed of 4.8 GHz. It is a top-of-the-line processor from the Tiger Lake series that ensures total smooth use and everyday multitasking.
It is also equipped with connected Intel Iris Xe graphics card, which stimulates the performance to be suitable for games with minimal settings, although this laptop is not intended for games.
The performance is generally very satisfactory with daily tasks such as browsing the Internet, opening dozens of tabs, using Office, making video calls, etc.
The case supports the Windows 10 Home operating system, Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity and Wi-Fi 6, and features 16 GB of RAM with 1 TB of SSD memory in the Saudi version.
The laptop includes a 52-watt battery that provides you with 7 and a half hours with normal use or 1 hour and 8 minutes with heavy use.
MSI Prestige 14 Evo is priced between $ 1,100 and $ 1,300.
The Prestige 14 Evo uses the highest processor from the Tiger Lake series to bring you powerful and fast performance within an elegant, lightweight chassis that makes it easy for you to carry and take anywhere. You may notice that the performance of the screen and the sound is not optimal, but in general this computer is considered practical and highly efficient.
