Project xCloud video game service launched

Project xCloud is now a game streaming service a company Microsoft is now available on Android phones and tablets.

The service competes directly with Google’s (Stadia) service, which was launched last year and allows people to play computer games on Android phones, Chromecast Ultra devices, and the Chrome web browser on most computers.

Project xCloud can be thought of as a Netflix gaming service, as Microsoft’s game streaming service allows you to play high-quality games that usually require a powerful Xbox platform wherever there is a fast enough internet connection (10 Mbps). Or better) without having to buy (Xbox).

By comparison, Netflix requires half that speed, or 5 megabits per second, to stream HD video.

The service may help attract gamers to Microsoft’s ecosystem, as they do not need to spend hundreds of dollars on Xbox.

Game streaming is included as part of the (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) Which costs $ 14.99 per month from Microsoft, which offers more than 150 games.

Most games also require an Xbox controller to be paired with your phone via Bluetooth, although some games, such as Minecraft Dungeons from Microsoft, also support touch screen controls.

Although Google Stadia is free, you have to pay the full price for the games, which range from about $ 14.99 to $ 60 or more.

Premium Stadia subscribers get access to more free games every month and games in 4K resolution, if their internet connection is fast enough to support it.

Microsoft’s service is similar to Netflix more than Google’s service, as it offers a comprehensive set of games that you do not pay for individually, and you can access them as long as you pay the monthly fee.

It is noteworthy that players who own iPhones and iPads cannot use Microsoft’s new service on these devices, as Apple’s developer rules banned game-streaming services until very recently.

Although Apple updated its developer terms on September 11th to allow these types of services, Microsoft believes that it will continue to offer customers a bad experience because Apple will require Microsoft to provide each game as a separate download.
