The latest leaks confirm the plans of both Samsung and Qualcomm to bring in high-performance ARM X1 cores in the next generation of premium Exynos and Snapdragon processors.
ARM announced last May for the Cortex-A78 cores that support the most powerful processing units, with significant improvements in efficiency, and ARM indicated in its announcement new super-powerful cores X1, which brings greater performance enhancement for the new generation of processors.
It is decided that the new ARM cores will be used in the new generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung Exynos processors, where these processors are scheduled to appear in the Galaxy S21 series.
Also, the new generation of Snapdragon and Exynos processors will be characterized by the same configuration of the cores, that the processors include 1 of the super-powerful X1 cores, and three Cortex-A78 cores, as expectations indicate 4 of the Cortex-A55 cores that support efficiency, or may reveal ARM reports new cores for performance efficiency.
It is decided that the cores of the X1 come with 30% better performance than the Cortex-A77 cores and by 23% compared to the A78 cores, as the super-powerful cores are used independently due to the high energy consumption in these cores.
