Motorola announces the G100 and G50 phones

Revealed a company Motorola unveiled the G100 and G50, two mid-range phones that are first heading to the European and Latin American markets.

Both offer displays with fast refresh rates of 90Hz for smooth scrolling, animation and 5G connectivity, and they also embrace Motorola’s spirit of a bigger battery with massive cells of 5,000 mAh.

The G100 competes with the likes of the Google Pixel 4A 5G with a Snapdragon 870 5G processor, 8 GB of RAM and a dual front-facing ultra-wide and wide camera for 499.99 euros (about $ 587).

On the one hand, the G50 looks like a budget-friendly device with a fast refresh rate and a 6.5-inch screen at 229.99 euros (about $ 269).

The G100 offers a 6.7-inch 1080p LCD screen with 8 GB of RAM accompanied by 128 GB of storage, which is expandable thanks to a MicroSD card slot.

And the sub-6GHz standard is supported for 5G networks as well as the Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard, and the G100 features a 64MP main camera (lacking optical stability) complemented by a 16MP Ultra Wide Camera that also functions as a macro camera.

And a dual front camera – an approach Google took with the Pixel 3 and later abandoned – is offered with a 16MP ultra-wide lens and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.

It can record video up to 6K at 30 fps With the main rear camera, the ultra-wide rear camera can capture 4K clips at 30 frames per second – something found on many flagship phones, but not very common in this upper-middle class.

The G50 uses a slightly smaller screen measuring 6.5 inches with a resolution of 720 pixels, and includes a Snapdragon 480 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage capacity, and there is a microSD slot here as well.

The triple rear camera array mostly consists of a standard 48MP wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The G100 is on sale in Europe and Latin America today, while the G50 will arrive in select European markets in the coming weeks.
