Fitbit smartwatches and trackers are great for your fitness, but the company focuses on your overall health.
In addition to fitness, the Fitbit app can help you cope with stress, and a new Mindful Method software for the premium subscribers helps.
Created by alternative medicine specialist Deepak Chopra, the program builds on the company’s focus on stress management that began with Sense Watches.
The Mindful Method program includes more than 30 audio and video sessions on topics such as: mindfulness, sleep, stress management, wellness, and the mind-body connection, Fitbit says.
The program is taught by Deepak Chopra, a well-known author and wellness expert, and more sessions are scheduled to launch from Chopra over the coming months.
At a press presentation for the new program, Chopra led the audience through a sample meditation from the Mindful Method.
The new program aims to differentiate itself by showcasing more of Chopra’s wellness philosophy alongside data provided by Fitbit watches and the Premium service.
Fitbit says Premium already includes more than 100 mindfulness tracks, but adding new tracks from a well-known name could make a difference to the Fitbit owner who hasn’t decided to pay $ 9.99 a month for the Premium yet.
Mindful Method also relies on Fitbit’s strategy of not only collecting and displaying a diverse set of data but making it actionable, which Chopra summed up in his presentation as the transition from biofeedback to bioregulation.
And the Fitbit Sense EDA sensor provides an overall accurate view of when you’re under stress, displayed in the stress management points of the Fitbit app.
Current Meditations in Premium are a good way to see how this outcome could change with some control of breathing and alertness, but now Mindful Method may provide a more comprehensive way to find out why you feel stressed and what to do about it.
The first ten sessions of Mindful Method with Deepak Chopra are now available to Fitbit Premium subscribers.
