Look to Speak from Google aims to help users who are unable to express themselves verbally with just their eyes.
During our in-depth exploration of services specifically targeted to people with special needs, we find that Google is the company most interested in this category, and today it announced its new applications in this regard, the Look to Speak application, which is directed to users who are unable to express themselves verbally, through their eyes only.
Here, Google indicated that its new application relies on smart machine learning models to track the movements of the users’ eyes, providing two columns of common words and phrases, and a peek to the left or right leads to narrowing the selection until the intended option is determined, and at this point the application speaks the word or Words out loud.
The application also offers its basic functions without providing many additional features, and here users can customize the menu of options provided by the application, allowing people to express their voices more accurately by customizing words and phrases, and eye gaze sensitivity settings can also be modified to take into account individual needs and preferences.
Finally, this application from Google is available for download completely free of charge, and to take advantage of it, your device must be running Android 9.0 or later, and the company did not mention its intention to launch its application on the other operating system iOS.
