Occurred a company LG MOU with ASSA ABLOY Entrance, a global leader in automatic doors for industrial facilities and residences, to develop transparent automatic doors that support OLED technology.
The South Korean tech giant said in statementA: It intends to unveil the first transparent automatic door to support the well-known OLED screen technology this week, with commercial applications in mind.
LG explained that the new product combines transparent OLED signage from LG, and a content management platform based on SuperSign, in the automatic sliding glass doors manufactured by the Swedish company ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems.
LG said: The OLED transparent automatic door will provide new opportunities to greet customers, communicate with employees and provide advertising and marketing content to consumers.
Thanks to LG’s WRGB technology, the company said: The self-lighting OLED pixels reproduce accurate colors with exceptional brightness and high contrast. The transparent OLED technology from the Korean company is expandable and can be easily customized for a variety of doors and entrances. In addition, its transparency means that objects behind the screen can be easily seen, allowing the product to blend in with its surroundings while providing useful information. Thanks to the robust design that features tempered glass, the product provides excellent durability and improved safety when combined with ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems’ robotic sliding doors.
It is noteworthy that LG had unveiled a set of transparent banners early last year. Now, those signs are visible in the real world. And last August, the company announced that its screens had become used in subway windows in Beijing and Shenzhen, China. OLED-Info reported that transparent OLED TVs from Panasonic and Xiaomi use LG screens.
