LG displays a bendable OLED gaming screen

Announced a company LG Display it will show the world’s first 48-inch OLED bendable CSO cinematic sound optimized for gaming at CES 2021.

In addition to several transparent OLED demos, LG Display is also showing a gaming concept product in the CES 2021 virtual showroom.

The user can switch between the flat screen and the curved screen, which allows watching videos in flat screen mode, and converting them with the press of a button to a curved screen with a radius of up to 1000 mm for immersive games.

The CSO 48 ” bendable display uses the advantages of OLED, which means it can be manufactured to bend to a radius of 1000mm without affecting the display function.

It can be converted into a flat screen while watching TV, and used as a curved screen while gaming.

The curved screen provides a uniform viewing distance from the center to the edge of the screen, adding to the visual immersion common among gamers.

In addition, CSO technology allows OLED screens to vibrate and emit sound without the use of any speakers, providing a vivid sense of reality as if the characters appearing on the screen were talking directly to the viewer.

And the portion thickness that makes the bendable 48-inch CSO screen vibrate has been reduced To 0.6mm by 9mm, allowing viewers to enjoy a thinner screen and superb sound.

OLED technology is newly gaining attention in the gaming TV market due to its superiority, as each pixel emits its own light, providing unlimited contrast ratio.

This delivers another level of lifelike picture quality, with a seamless experience provided by a 0.1ms response time, 120Hz refresh rate, and a variable wide refresh rate range from 40Hz to 120Hz.

And for gamers who watch screens for an extended period of time, LG’s OLED screens are especially suitable because they are known for their eye comfort.

They are recognized and approved by the world’s leading accreditation organizations as emitting low levels of blue light and being flicker-free.

Chang-ho Oh, head of TV business unit at LG Display, said: “The CSO bendable display is optimized for gaming as it increases the use of advanced technology that produces another level in terms of providing an immersive experience and a better environment for gamers.
