It is not surprising that most users rely on Google Maps for their travel, travel and exploration of the world around them, and if you remember, last year Maps made AR Live View enabled with augmented reality capabilities, and recently, Google announced some upcoming upgrades to this mode, including, Famous landmarks and location sharing.
Now, when you are in Live View mode, the location of nearby features will appear to help users find their directions and navigate more confidently, and Live View will show how far away the features are, as well as the direction they must travel to get there. These include, today, parks, attractions, famous places, and selected countries around the world.
Also, other additions include the ability to access AR Live View while using transmission directions and location sharing, and thanks to machine learning, Live View will soon have a more accurate pin placement.
Finally, Google indicated that these add-ons from its maps are currently available exclusively to the Pixel phones campaign, but this will not last for long, as it confirmed its intention to launch these features on all Android and iOS devices, specifically phones that support ARCore and ARKit technologies.
