The application is also distinguished by that it does not require the need to connect to the Internet, and here Read Along uses Google’s speech recognition technology and for young readers to share visual and verbal notes while they read books available from around the world.

As for the virtual character, Diyaa, her main task is reading first and then listening to the children’s performance in real time, providing them also with positive and encouraging notes during their reading. Children can also click on Zia’s picture to repeat a specific word or sentence for them.
