Evercade VS .. an old-fashioned gaming platform that goes back in time
The new platform comes after the company released in 2020 the Evercade mobile device that connects to the TV through the Mini HDMI port, but its 4.3-inch screen proves that it is more designed for old games on the go.
The Evercade handheld device let you play old games from Atari, Namco and other companies on a large screen, but there was no way to use it with multiplayer games, even if the game supported the feature.
The new Evercade VS solves this problem if you want to play with friends and family, allowing up to four people to play with multiple local players using USB joysticks.
The new platform powers nearly all of the old platform cartridges, except for two that display batches Namco Museum.
Accordingly, you will not be able to play Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga and other games included in those cartridges exclusively licensed for use in mobile devices.
And you can insert two cartridges at one time, since the device has a dual cartridge slot and interface that can display up to 40 games at one time.
Currently, Blaze Entertainment has released more than 260 games across more than 20 cartridges, with plans to release more in the future.
Evercade VS is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, containing 512MB of RAM and 1080p output.
Games platform stores Save and load data in the cartridge itself, letting you continue where you left off via the Evercade handheld device, or vice versa.
And unlike the previous portable device, the current device has wireless network connectivity for updates, as well as for any future online feature Blaze Entertainment decides to introduce.
It is assumed that the gaming platform will be available for initial order from May 28 for $ 99, with shipping to begin early November.
