Beeper is a new global chat app that tries to unify 15 different chat platforms into one interface, and it’s developed by a team that includes Eric Migikowski. Eric Migicovsky, CEO and founder of former smartwatch manufacturer Pebble.
He notes Site Beeper believes that the project was previously known as NovaChat, and it requires a $ 10 / month subscription.
Although Beeper integrates with the most popular messaging services in the world, such as: WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter, Slack, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Signal and Discord, iMessage support from Camel It is perhaps the most interesting.
IMessage is only officially available via Apple devices, and users often cite it as something preventing them from switching to Android.
Migikowski says Beeper should allow iMessage to work across Android, Windows and Linux, but he admits it uses some tricks to do so.
The frequently asked questions on the app’s website provide a more in-depth explanation of what exactly these tricks include.
And if you have a Mac that’s always connected to the Internet, you can install the Beeper Mac app as a bridge, similar to how AirMessage uses.
And if you don’t have access to a Mac, Beeper says: It sends each of its users an iPhone with jailbroken protection with the Beeper app installed in order to act as a bridge..
Using Beeper includes paying a monthly subscription of $ 10, which may or may not include the cost of a jailbroken iPhone.
He currently has 50 old iPhone 4S devices in his office that are recyclable for use with Beeper, Migikovsky said in a tweet.
And if the solution works as Beeper claims, the result should be a universal chat app that works across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, offering a unified inbox and the ability to search through messages from each of the 15 services.
The application was designed based on the open source Matrix protocol, and although the application itself is not open source, the bridges that connect it to other chat services are open source.
While the short-term goal is to make it easier to chat with people via different chat apps, Migikovsky talked about the possibility that everyone would use the same Matrix to chat with friends and colleagues, rather than simply using it as a bridge between services.
Although Migikovsky says he has been using Beeper as the default chatting app for the past two years, it doesn’t appear to be widely available yet.
Instead, Beeper asks potential users to fill out a form via their website to get an invitation.

And yes, iMessage works even on Android, Windows and Linux using some trickery 🙂
