Apple announces WWDC 2021 as an online-only event

Announced a company Apple just hosted its annual developer conference For the current year, WWDC 2021 will run from June 7 to June 11, and like last year it will be an online event only.

As is usual with Apple, the ad is opaque when it comes to details, but there could be a hint regarding what appears via memoji glasses.

WWDC21 brings a unique vision of the future of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, free to all developers.

WWDC21 is an opportunity for developers to learn about the new technologies, tools and frameworks that they rely on to build innovative and unique applications and games for the platform.

We are working to make WWDC 2021 our biggest and best yet, and we are excited to provide our developers with new tools to support them while creating apps that change the way we live, work and play, said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of developer relations.

Apple usually breaks down during WWDC for upcoming changes to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS with unexpected hardware surprise.

And last year, the company devoted a large portion of its keynote to announcing the transition of its Mac lineup to its own Apple Silicon processors.

As the transition continues, it looks likely Apple will have an update to share about its progress.

New devices tend to be less of a developer focus, but they’re not unknown.

Apple used the WWDC 2019 event as a venue to announce the new Mac Pro, and at WWDC 2017 announced the HomePod smart speaker, the updated iMac desktop, and the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro.

Apple said: Given that customers rely on our products more than ever to work, learn, and express their creativity, entertainment and entertainment, WWDC 2021 provides Apple’s global community, which includes more than 28 million developers, as well as the next generation of application developers, information and tools. Necessary to turn their thoughts into reality.

And it’s not surprising that Apple chose to hold its Worldwide Developers Conference online only given that the impact of the pandemic is still being felt around the world.

Facebook’s F8 developer conference will hypothetically this year, but some organizations are trying to hold limited physical events like MWC in Barcelona.
