Apple announces the eighth generation of the 10.2-inch iPad, at $ 329

Apple today announced the eighth generation of its standard 10.2-inch iPad, as it updated it with the fast A12 processor, while maintaining its base price of $ 329. And the educational class will be able to get it for as low as $ 299.

The A12 chip brings “neural engine” processing capabilities from Apple to the standard iPad for the first time, while doubling the performance of a graphics processor. Apple says the new version will still be suitable for existing holsters, including the keyboard case and those made by Logitech. It will also still support the first-generation Apple Pencil, just like the previous version.

The new iPad will also work with the iPadOS 14 operating system and will introduce new features introduced by Apple for the upcoming software update, including new Apple Pencil features such as entering handwritten text.

Unfortunately, it appears that Apple is still committed to its Lightning port on the new version, rather than the USB-C port used by Apple laptops, the iPad Pro and the iPad Air that was just announced.

In any case, the new iPad features the home button for the standard Touch ID, which is an increasingly rare occurrence in Apple’s recent product lineup.
